Women Empowerment is not just a matter of gender equality, although that is a significant part of it. It is about recognizing the vital role women play in society and ensuring they are given the opportunity to succeed, for without their empowerment, the success of any society or the world at large is severely hindered.

The genesis of humanity, as depicted in many cultural and religious narratives, underscores the importance of women. If not for the creation of Eve to accompany Adam, humanity as we know it might not have existed. Despite the challenges that Eve's story brought, it is undeniable that without her presence, Adam would have been alone and miserable. This narrative serves as a metaphor for the indispensable role women play in our lives and societies.

Women from all walks of life have their unique stories to tell about the challenges they face. These challenges are not confined to any one race or religion; they are universal. Women from various societal standings, races, religions, nationalities, and even those who are differently-abled face issues regarding empowerment. Gender rights often fail to address all these aspects, and as a result, fail to uplift women equally. Each woman faces her own unique struggles based on her standing in other areas of privilege. Without giving women a greater ability to succeed, we cannot claim to be creating a more successful world. Empowering any group leads to greater success for society at large.

It is disheartening to note that a significant percentage of men have issues with women stepping up and becoming more privileged and financially successful. There is a pervasive belief that financially privileged women have pride and control issues. Some men go as far as to verbally or physically abuse women, taking advantage of the legal system that often sides with them. It is not fair for any gender to dehumanize another in any way. It is ironic how men, who have historically been cruel and abusive towards women, now complain when women are deemed equals in society. This highlights a deep-seated insecurity that resurfaces when women assert their independence.

We are all aware of the suffering women have endured at the hands of men throughout history. In earlier centuries, women were treated as almost non-existent, with rights belonging solely to men. Even basic rights such as voting and freedom of speech were denied to women. In some parts of the world, such as India, women are still not safe. They are subjected to the danger of honor killings, where families take the law into their own hands to protect the husband's legacy. This is nothing short of evil.

In other communities, domestic violence is a major issue, particularly in the colored community. We need to empower more women of color to speak up for themselves and refuse to be victims of injustice. No man owns you, and no man has the right to tell you what you should or shouldn't do. No man has the right to verbally or physically abuse you. Period. In the black community, women who work are often paid less than their male counterparts. It is unfair and sexist to pay someone less for the same work because of their gender. We must start giving women the credit they are due. It has been long overdue.

In South Africa, the human trafficking business is thriving. Women are being kidnapped and mutilated. Many of these women do not live to tell the tale. They are lured from the comfort of their homes with promises of jobs, only to be trapped, kidnapped, and subjected to horrific abuses. If they are lucky, their lives are spared, but they are trafficked to be sold out of Africa. The most gruesome injustice of all that women fall victim to in South Africa is sexual abuse. These problems are not exaggerated. Just because you might be living a good, safe, and secure life doesn't mean the less fortunate aren't vulnerable and prone to be victims of such problems. Real change starts when we burst our bubble and start taking action. We must take seriously what people who are less fortunate are going through and acknowledge that these problems are real.

Your neighborhood, your city, your province/state, and South Africa alone are so big. The African continent, which contains all African countries, is so big. Combine all the continents of the entire world, and you see where I'm getting at. Now you have a full idea of how big the world is. These problems are real, and it's scary that as much as they are taken into account and people in urban areas are slowly breaking their silence, we sadly can't say the same for people living in rural, informal settlements. Although we hear cases of children and elderly women falling victim to sexual assault in these underdeveloped areas, what's sad is that it only gets reported so late, after the incident has gone too far and been happening for a very long while.

As I've said earlier, it's not a race issue. We have got to treat women better. They are not our possessions. They are more than our limited narrative of how we view them. Some men, in a failed attempt to get the attention of women they desire, resort to swearing and belittling them just because they didn't want to give them their attention. That behavior is unacceptable, and it's verbal abuse. Men need to protect and value their wives and daughters because they go through a lot daily. Everything will be okay the day men start considering women's feelings. Because women play a vital role in our society. Without them being as supportive and submissive as they've always been to us throughout the years, we wouldn't be where we are today as a whole. Behind every successful man, there's a woman who keeps him organized and functioning. Many of us would crumble before we even reach our goals if women weren't willing participants in our growth, while some of them neglect and drop their own dreams and bear children, yet we are still so ungrateful and vile towards them.

In conclusion, the empowerment of women is not just a necessity but an urgent call to action. It is a moral imperative that we must all support and advocate for. By empowering women, we are not only uplifting them but also creating a more just, equitable, and successful world for everyone.
